ZARA unveils new collection ‘Cutie Circus’ with stylist Harry Lambert

Zara has launched its second collaboration with fashion stylist Harry Lambert, introducing a 70-piece collection ‘Cutie Circus’. The collection takes inspiration from the vibrant and whimsical world of the circus, as well as other nostalgic spaces like seaside resorts and theme parks, evoking a sense of joy and playfulness.

Lambert drew from a wide range of influences, with a strong focus on vintage aesthetics, particularly from the 70s and its colour palette and design details that define such a bazaar. The collection includes polka-dot shirts, oversized tartan outerwear, and retro zip-through Harrington jackets. Silhouettes are playful and distinctive, such as cropped, ringmaster-inspired blazers and barrel-leg trousers in pastel corduroy and denim that are reminiscent of clown costumes.

Prints and slogans also tie into the circus theme, with pieces like an intarsia harlequin vest, patchwork knits, and playful T-shirts featuring slogans like ‘Free Popcorn.’ Lambert emphasised creating T-shirts with a lived-in, vintage look, achieved through meticulous attention to fit and form, alongside a carefully crafted wash effect. These T-shirts come in a range of stripes, slogans, and bright colour-block options, designed to integrate with the rest of the collection.

A key highlight of ‘Cutie Circus’ is the collaboration with artist Aysha Nagieva, who developed bespoke illustrations for the collection. Nagieva worked primarily in watercolours to capture the vintage circus feel while keeping the visuals contemporary. Her prints, based on Lambert’s detailed research, feature across several key pieces in the collection.

The ‘Cutie Circus’ collection will be available for purchase online and in select Zara stores starting September 20.
