The Bear House secures Rs 50 crore in Series A funding

Men’s apparel and accessory brand The Bear House has raised $5.83 million (Rs. 50 crore) in a Series A funding round led by JM Financial India Growth Fund III. The investment aims to fuel the brand’s offline expansion, enhance its market presence, and strengthen working capital.

With this funding, The Bear House plans to accelerate its retail footprint across India. Primarily selling online through its own website / app and marketplaces such as Myntra, Ajio, Flipkart, Nykaa, Tata CliQ and Zepto, the brand opened its first physical store in Bengaluru in March 2025.

The brand aims to establish 20 more locations nationwide within the next two years.

“We are optimistic about the growth of India’s online branded apparel market, especially in the men’s business-casual / casual workwear segment. The Bear House has demonstrated impressive growth by leveraging its unique design sensibilities and direct-to-consumer strategy to build a loyal customer following,” said Siddharth Kothari, Managing Director – Private Equity, JM Financial.

“This growth capital infusion and partnership with a fund like JM Financial India Growth Fund III will help us accelerate our expansion plans and strengthen our brand’s presence,” said Harsh Somaiya, Co-Founder, The Bear House.

Dexter Capital was the exclusive advisor to The Bear House on the transaction. Dexter Ventures (Investment arm of Dexter capital) also participated in the investment round.

“Having built a 150 cr+ online brand while staying bootstrapped and profitable is a testament to Harsh’s manufacturing expertise and Tanvi’s design skills. We are glad to be a part of the team’s journey toward being a leading men’s wear brand,” said Anuradha Agrawal, General Partner, Dexter Ventures.

Previous Fundings

This latest round of funding is not The Bear House’s first. Earlier this year, the brand received a major funding boost on Shark Tank India where it secured a ₹3 crore investment from Namita Thapar, Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals.

Founded in 2017 by Tanvi and Harsh Somaiya, The Bear House has rapidly carved out a niche in India’s premium menswear segment, offering European-inspired smart casuals designed for modern, hybrid work cultures.

With a presence in key cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, the brand is now set to expand into Mumbai, Pune, and Chennai. It expects to surpass ₹140 crore in net revenue this year, achieving over 40% year-on-year (YoY) growth.
