British fashion and retail department store chain Marks and Spencer (M&S) is set to open its 100th store in India, located on Linking Road, Santacruz West in Mumbai, with the inauguration scheduled for 6 p.m on Thursday.
Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon will be joining the inauguration, the company announced through a video on LinkedIn.
The company announced this milestone on LinkedIn, expressing gratitude for their customers’ support and their team’s dedication. M&S entered India through a partnership with Reliance in 2008 and operates in 100 global markets via local partners and online platforms.
M&S, headquartered in Paddington, London, was founded in 1884 by Michael Marks and Thomas Spencer in Leeds. As of 2023, they have 1,064 stores in the UK and 452 worldwide, providing employment to approximately 66,000 individuals, with a majority of them being women.
