RSWM Limited, the flagship company of the LNJ Bhilwara Group, boasts a net worth of USD 1.2 billion and stands as one of India’s top manufacturers and exporters of recycled fibre, synthetic, cotton, and blended yarns, along with denim and knitted fabrics. Led by Riju Jhunjhunwala, the Chairman and Managing Director, RSWM Ltd. exports a wide variety of yarns and fabrics across more than 70 countries worldwide. With state-of-the-art technology, the company produces a range of high-quality cotton, mélange, synthetic, and sustainable yarns, in addition to greige, dyed, novelty, and value-added yarns, as well as knitted and denim fabrics. RSWM Ltd.’s 12 manufacturing facilities in Rajasthan ensure efficient production and on-time delivery, reinforcing its position as a leader in the textile industry.

During an exclusive interview at Yarnex’24, IMAGES Business of Fashion had the opportunity to engage with three of RSWM’s Business Heads. They shared insights into their respective divisions and presented their Autumn/Winter 2025-26 collections, showcasing a range of innovative products and solutions that reflect the company’s commitment to quality and sustainability in the textile industry.

Sustainability & Innovation at the Forefront: A Look into LNJ Knits

LNJ Knits, helmed by Arvind Maurya, Business Head & Chief Executive at RSWM Knits Fabric Business, is a prominent division of RSWM Limited. LNJ Knits stands as a leader in the Indian textile industry specialising in activewear and fashion fabrics. With a production capacity of 9100+ MT PA tons per month, split between its facilities in Banswara, Rajasthan, and Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, the company supplies high-quality knitted fabrics to renowned international brands such as Levi’s, Nike, Calvin Klein, Marks & Spencer, and Tesco, alongside key domestic clients.

Commitment to Quality & Innovation

LNJ Knits maintains stringent quality control measures across its production processes to meet the expectations of its global clientele. Each fabric undergoes rigorous testing for both chemical and physical parameters in in-house laboratories, ensuring it meets all quality standards before being dispatched. Customers are provided with detailed quality reports, reinforcing transparency and trust.

Innovation remains a key focus for the company, with a dedicated New Product Development (NPD) team working to launch collections in line with international trends. Using insights from global fashion forecasts, trade fairs, and feedback from clients, the team develops new collections that align with market demands. The latest Autumn-Winter 2025/26 collection, launched specifically for the European and UK markets, showcases their emphasis on keeping up with trends while prioritising sustainability.

Sustainability Initiatives

Sustainability is a cornerstone of LNJ Knits’ operations. The company is actively transitioning from coal-based to biomass-based facilities, aiming to fully convert by the end of 2025. Currently, 43% of their power needs are met through renewable energy sources such as solar and wind energy, with 30% generated from biomass. LNJ Knits has also implemented a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) system for water treatment, ensuring that no water is discharged and all wastewater is treated and reused.

Material Traceability & Technological Integration

To meet customer requirements and ensure compliance with sustainability standards, LNJ Knits employs robust traceability measures for raw materials like cotton and recycled polyester. The company maintains detailed tracking records, sharing them with clients when requested, and holds certifications to validate the use of recycled materials.

Future Growth & Expansion Plans

LNJ Knits has ambitious plans for the future, with an aim to increase its production capacity from 800 tons to 1,200 tons per month. The company is also exploring the addition of new facilities, such as a printing unit, and investing in garment manufacturing to achieve further vertical integration. This expansion is part of their five-year strategy to enhance product offerings and stay competitive in the global textile market.

“When it comes to growth across different segments, the sportswear category is expanding much faster than traditional fashion, mainly due to shifting consumption patterns in India. People are now more conscious about dressing appropriately for activities like morning walks, ensuring they wear proper shoes, track pants, and t-shirts. Similarly, when children participate in sports, whether it’s cricket, school activities, or other sports, parents are investing in the right attire,” says Maurya.

“Within activewear, loungewear has also gained popularity. Considering the increasing demand in this category, we see a promising future for sportswear and athleisure in India, which is why RSWM is focusing heavily on this sector. Our aim is to become a leader in sportswear fabric manufacturing,” he adds.

The Growing Indian Textile Market

Despite competition from international markets, LNJ Knits sees significant potential for growth within India. The company is positioning itself to capture a larger share of the growing domestic market, which is fuelled by an expanding population and the rise of organised retail. LNJ Knits plans to achieve a 40% export and 60% domestic sales mix, leveraging its two-year-old facility to cater to increasing demand from Indian and international brands operating locally.
