FibreTrace, a leader in textile traceability technology, has announced the appointment of Tricia Carey as Strategic Advisor. Based in New York City, Carey brings over 25 years of experience in the textile and apparel industry.
Carey has a background in innovation, sustainability, and circularity, having previously worked at Lenzing Fibres where she played a key role in establishing the TENCEL fibre in the American market. She also led global partnerships and launched collaborative collections, including the Carved in Blue platform. Most recently, Carey advanced circular fashion practices at Renewcell, working with the recycled textile material Circulose.
As Strategic Advisor, Carey will support FibreTrace in enhancing partnerships and advancing its fibre integrity technology. FibreTrace’s technology offers real-time transparency across the textile supply chain by embedding a luminescent, transparent pigment ID at the raw fibre stage, allowing for verification throughout production.
Carey holds a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising from The Fashion Institute of Technology, as well as qualifications from Cornell University and MIT. She has received several industry accolades, including the RIVET 50 award and recognition as a top 100 Denim Legend. Carey has also been a board member of Textile Exchange and a founding member of Transformers Foundation and Accelerating Circularity.
FibreTrace’s technology enables end-to-end traceability, ensuring full transparency for brands to monitor their supply chains from raw fibre to finished garment.
