Renowned designer Archana Jaju has unveiled her latest fashion collection, Adavi, a tribute to India’s lush forest landscapes. The collection showcases the beauty of India’s forests through the use of handspun chanderi, organza, and light silks, all woven in Chanderi.
The collection offers a refreshing take on modern-day Indian fashion with its flowy silhouettes that effortlessly transition from business meetings to post-work social events.
In Archana Jaju’s Fall-Winter ’23 collection, the traditional art of kalamkari takes center stage. The collection features 23 meticulously hand-drawn motifs inspired by the enchanting landscapes of India’s forests. These motifs are brought to life using natural colors and vegetable dyes, all set against a soothing palette of pastel hues.
Each piece in the collection undergoes a meticulous crafting process. It begins with softening the fabric, followed by the intricate hand-drawing of stories inspired by the forests. The fabric is then left to soak in the sun’s cleansing energy, resulting in a one-of-a-kind piece that is as unique as it is exquisite.
Adavi is a heartfelt homage to nature and folklore. It serves as a craft-based prayer for the ecological diversity of India, celebrating the thriving forests, gushing rivers, and the harmonious coexistence of wildlife. The collection draws inspiration from the enchanting tales of India’s forests, where birds fill the sky, fish swim in the waters, big cats roam, and ancient trees whisper stories that span centuries, the release added.
The collection offers a versatile range of coordinated sets, dresses, and jackets adorned with kalamkari artwork and shimmering details. Designed for women of all ages, this collection captures the timelessness of its inspiration – the bountiful and enduring beauty of India’s forests.
