Chanel Beauty, Victoria’s Secret to open outlets at Ambience Mall

2024 will mark the launch of Chanel’s beauty boutique as well as Delhi’s second Victoria’s Secret outlet at Ambience Mall, Gurugram. The mall is already a haven for luxury brands and boasts of outlets of the likes of Tom Ford, Huda Beauty, Too Faced, Charlotte Tilbury, Nykaa Luxe and Jo Malone.

Last year, the mall had re-launched FCUK in India. The urban wear brand, which specializes in creating contemporary clothing and accessories, is making a comeback in the country. FCUK is known for its signature dresses, responsible denim, and relaxed staples, FCUK presents a range of eco-conscious pieces and accessible, quality items designed to withstand the test of time

The brand also signed an agreement with e-commerce giant Myntra in April 2023 for a dedicated ‘Online Brand Store’ on both its website and app, further expanding Myntra’s international licensed brand portfolio.

“We are delighted to have engaged Myntra as our India licensee for French Connection and FCUK,” said French Connection Group’s Chairman & Director, Apinder Ghura in a press release last year. “I have every confidence in the Myntra team to enable a successful launch and promote the ongoing presence of the brands in India.”

Retail Space in Shopping Malls in India

According to a study by Cushman & Wakefield, the new supply of retail space in shopping malls increased 72 % year to 59.48 lakh sq. ft. across eight major cities to meet rising demand from retailers in India.

In 2023, as many as 11 shopping malls became operational, covering 59,48,395 sq. ft. of space across the top eight cities. In the previous year, nine malls came into eight markets, totalling 34,49,222 sq. ft. area.

Hyderabad witnessed the completion of three shopping malls, while Pune and Chennai had two each. One shopping mall each came up in Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad the study stated.

With 59 lakh sq. ft. of mall commencing operations across the top 8 cities in India, Cushman said the year 2023 saw the biggest supply addition in the post-COVID world. In 2019, the same cities witnessed a new supply addition of around 50 lakh sq. ft. of Grade-A and B+ malls, the study concluded.
