Renowned fashion designer Anushka Khanna makes a dazzling return to the fashion scene with her latest festive collection, “Luminescence,” the brand announced in a release on Monday. The Mumbai-based designer, known for her signature aesthetic, presents a symphony of iridescence and grace in this new collection, capturing the celebratory sparkle of the season.
Each piece in the “Luminescence” collection is a blend of textures, delicate embellishments, and Anushka’s distinctive tailoring. The line seamlessly fuses contemporary silhouettes with timeless elegance, exuding a charm that captivates the senses and ignites the imagination, the release added.
Reflecting on her return to the design world, Anushka Khanna, also a new mother, shares, “As a designer and a new mother, I decided to step back and look at both my work and my wardrobe with a fresh, discerning eye. This is a collection that echoes a new chapter in my life and in my design.”
Anushka’s use of color spans the spectrum, from delicate blush and icy mint to vibrant electric hues and mysterious black. The collection features trompe l’oeil embellishments, luminosity through intricate gota-work cuts, and craft and texture through brightly-hued contrast threadwork. Pearls and tiny sequins add a touch of femininity.
For the festivities, Khanna showcases her signature long, lean jackets, slouchy kurtas, structured blazers, and fluid drapes with classic saris. The spotlight is on the lehenga—a full skirt meant to be twirled—paired with separates that echo individual vibes, be it a choli or a beautifully cut waistcoat.
